Default 1995 940 LPT SE...spares or repair

Reluctantly, I am having to say "spares or repair" to this rather nice car. its served me well for over 10 years, cam belt and water pump replaced 3 years ago, front brake calipers replaced 12 months ago, fitted with cross drilled and grooved front discs, ebc ultimax pads all round, alternator refurbed 8 months ago, auto box replaced 2 year ago.....hence its latest problem.....the kickdown cable has seized. seems it got bent on fitting and has now caused an issue with the cable movement, so it jams and holds the box in 1st, not unless you open the bonnet and manually push the cable back.
The car was great to drive, black leather interior, glass sunroof, privacy film on load area side windows and roller blinds on tailgate window. fitted air con, but needs gassing, never bothered with air con when sunroof still works ok. engine runs and drives well, no issues. battery replaced 12 months ago, same goes for tyres, which all 5 are good tread depth.

I do have the replacement kickdown cable [gen Volvo part] as well as a timing belt kit, I will gladly let go with the car if someone has the knowledge to replace the kickdown cable, which I do not and not wanting to afford garage prices for their labour charges forces the sale.

I am open to genuine offers for the compete car, as said, due to box issue, you will need to trailer as it wont change out of 1st gear, but at least you can test drive just down the road to check everything else is ok.

Im offering the car on here first, before going to Ebay.

heres some more reasons why id hate to see this one meet the breakers:

Upgraded the front/rear lights to "white lenses", Yokohama tyres all round, with at least 6mm tread on all 4. Bodywork: good, all original paintwork, never had a full repaint, its too good. Dash was upgraded to one out of an HPT, so now sports turbo boost gauge and external air temp/ice alert. Plus additional turbo boos gauge to keep an eye on things. and the no brainer. it IS still fitted with a FULL stainless steel exhaust system, complete with sports cat. This was fitted about 5 years ago, and passes mot's, no problem. Fitted with tow bar and twin elecs, and yes, tows a dream, very stable. all the interior is good, seats great, yes, the two rear door trims have the inevitable vynil wrinkle on the tops by the windows, but a small price to pay for all the other goodies:

Many thanks to those who showed interest, pity for those who never bothered to actually show up, or reply to messages. But well done to the guy who has purchased, you certainly have a bargain !

it really is an easy fix , just take the gearbox sump off ....

the cause is likely to be a faulty earth strap for the engine , the starter current then tries to go down the downshift cable and it glows red and melts the plastic liner . don't fit that nice new cable you have without fixing the fault ...
