Oh, yes, I bought a replacement stalk with cap for the last 940; now I can fit it to this one, thanks to Forrest's Volvo pdf, which on page 6 shows clearly that the stalk can be removed without removing the wheel.

If Jim doesn't want to buy the stalk and cap together, Kay's Skandix link will get the job done, though it seems that the cap won't show a red light.

If you've had 5 consecutive passes with a missing cap it's probably because you've got a 240 and it still has the old style rocker switch for the hazards. If Volvo changed it to the later one and it's missing, you have a very friendly MoT tester.
David !!!!

You have previously changed my words in supposed quotes. Please do not misleadingly partially quote yourself !!! EEK !!!

"The MoT is all down to interpretation for a lot of things but i would think that's fairly unabiguous. If the red cap is missing, it's also faulty and doesn't provide the red tell tale."

And the five tests were by the way the car in this thread, not my car. init.

Look old chap. I have nothing against you. (Despite your personal comments.) Just. Sometimes we see from a different angle. Why not add our different angles together for a good forward approach?
