Good point. Does it allow for it to be fitted behind the valance maybe?

Not sure about this, it looks as if the holes on the bottom flitch plate have been elongated to make it fit.

This might have made it fit but it will also hare weakened it.

Looks like scrap to me.

So apparently is this one, not a straight type. V shaped from behind.

Getting another pic to confirm.

At least that one has a bend each side and is shaped so it is all equal!

Its also not like the last photo either.

The bolt locations are not on the same reference point. Behind the bar on one side, through it on the other. It does look like it was designed that way.

It looks to me as though it was once one of these

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...00-kg/1002414/

In which case its towing capacity was 1,600kg before it was “modified”. Although new ones are NLA the Skandix reinforcing kit to increase the capacity to 1,800kg is still available.

I don't think so, yours is detachable with a lock and straight, mine is bent (deliberately it seems)
