Default Glove box/ what's this thing?

Hi,

As the title suggests.... I think it's the alarm thing, but I'm not sure...

Bakom (Swiss?) and Telestyrelsen (Swedish) are different versions of regulators - a bit like Ofcom. There are other bodies marked on the box as well.
The thing would appear to be some sort of telecomms device. Do you have an inbuilt phone, or could it be a tracker?

It's the alarm ;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/327-Volvo...-/262835196869

Entered the part number (898821000) into the search bar and hit return. Third result was that ^^^^^

The big clue is the "WT Licence Exempt" which i hinted at earlier.

Good luck with that! Many manufacturers don't publish full details of the exact circuits even to their own dealers. It can be a real pain 20 years after the car ceased production and 15 years after the manufacturer ceased to exist.................

Unless you really need to investigate it, i think i'd put it to one side and ease off the headache pills!

I don’t have the key-fob for it and I’m going to end up getting an aftermarket alarm installed. So whilst I’ve got some time do get things done I might as well see if I can remove it without upsetting the car...

Let the headache commence!

Might be easier to get a replacement fob?

Rather get something a bit more modern installed, plus I could utilise that space.
