That is a bit harsh.
My Webasto was rebuilt and fitted 6 years ago. I am not aware of any leaks in that time.
OK I acknowledge that my car is garaged, but to give you an example I drove to Sweden Denmark and Norway 3 years ago, 2,500 miles and certainly experienced heavy and continuous rain in Norway with no leaks.
Just back from a round trip to top end of Scotland and some rain on this 1,900 mile trip and no leaks.
Fitting such a sunroof correctly is the key.....

Here are a few photos.
I think you would need to do your own research,as mine was re-built 6 years ago.

Quickest way to slash £2k off the value of your car and a royal pain to live with never mind selling the poor car !

DONT DO IT !

Kind regards

I wouldn't cut the roof either and wouldn't buy a car that's had its roof cut due to the potential for leaks, vandalism, theft etc. They can also look rather scruffy after a few years.......In big saloons such as the Amazon, Mk2 and Rover P5 , they just don't look right and such cars are hard to sell on unless they're cheap.

Personally ,I love them. My first Amazon had a Webasto, it was a scruffy old car with a scruffy old roof that still didn't leak 10 years later when the car was scrapped because of terminal rust. Also had one in an XK150. They transform the car when open, and I would fit one to my current Amazon if I didn't have a sports car as well.

My tuppence worth- In my opinion and it wouldn't be my choice, they only really work on a grey car -on other colours they just look like a massive sticking plaster. The 1800 can get quite hot in the cabin on summer days (not that we get many of those here in Scotland) so could be quite a nice addition but as classic swede said, they are like Marmite (either love or hate them) to some and so if you are thinking of selling the car in the future, be prepared to wait a lot longer for a buyer and get less for your investment.
If you change your mind, I have a spare roof panel here I could weld in for you!
