1999 V70 XC AWD Prop shaft rebuild
Hi All
I am currently having my prop rebuilt by a driveshaft company who insist the only way to replace the centre bearing is by cutting the prop to see if a nut and bolt holds the bearing part together. If no bolt the prop is a write off! Really need my AWD even tho driving fine FWD for last 2 months. Has anyone rebuilt one or had a prop rebuilt for them where this was done successfully? Many thanks - have hit a brick wall... Mike Last edited by MikeTV; Sep 4th, 2012 at 12:57. |

i know on the 98 awd v70 the centre bearing is a single peice unit and you have to cut the propshaft and knock it off and knock a new one on and then rebalance the propshaft i have had mine done so that if it ever goes again i can remove the yoke and remove it and replace it without having to cur it again.

Thanks again - I think mine is a phase 2 shaft being a 1999 but seemingly the only option as you say is to cut the shaft to get a t the centre bearing.
Its being done tomorrow so I'll know then if it's a goer...I'll post results - fingers crossed.... Cheers Mike |
