Smoking S60 D5 54reg

Black and grey smoke when my s60 D5 is under load. Replaced ERG valve, mass flow sensor and air filter and had injectors overhauled but still smokes badly. Can anyone advise me what to do next?

lots of experts on forum-I am sure they will share expertise. From my minimal understanding black smoke under load ?intercooler leak etc
Worth getting pressure tested-I presume no codes showing.

Morning , Black / grey smoke would possibly indicate a restricted air flow , a blockage into the airbox / filter assembly, possibly a defective breather system , this leads to a raised air pressure within the engine when it should be a negative pressure ( vacuum ) . This will lead to oil forcing its way into the combustion chambers . You might well have a leaking oil seal on the exhaust side of the turbo , that burns off when under a heavier loading . Be sure that it is not on the inlet side as the engine would treat the oil as a free fuel & become a runaway engine you will struggle to stop running .

look for the obvious , is there a vacuum pipe not fitted/ hanging free around the engine .

No codes apart from engine service required, did have a high emissions message but that seems to have gone now

Will have a look around, did have a problem a few months ago were the oil seal on the shaft going into the clutch/gearbox never seen so much oil dripping or flooding out everywhere, not sure if that is a concequence of that issue?

I have plugged in my OBD2 It is coming up with 2 fault codes it's saying pending fault codes P0244 and P0088 can anyone advise me please

Evening Richard , your first code refers to the boost control solenoid ( Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid ) & the second one refers to fuel rail pressure too high . I always recommend a live data read to get definitive readings & make sure that they are within specifications & not fluctuating

There are members around who can read codes with genuine Volvo software

I suggest posting a heartfelt plea for help & see what shakes free

Have you checked the intercooler ? They bow and split near the bottom, some cars drop what looks like oil from this, others don't.

It's not an uncommon fault on this age/generation of car, I had an 05 MY S60 D5 if memory serves me correctly the intercooler split at about 72k miles.
