I am looking for a reconditioned cylinder head and various gaskets. (for volvo 343)

I have tried a few places on the internet without luck.

Does anyone know a good supplier that I could try?

Also does anyone know of a company in the south east (prefrably surrey) where I could get a head skimmed?

Any suggestions would be great.

Cheers

You may find it difficult to find a supplier of a complete head, I doubt they would get much demand.

If your head is salvagable, then a skim (any engineering works), clean, valve grind and new seals should work wonders. Otherwise find a similar one on the scrap yard, it should be ok, but watch out for rusted in studs for water pump etc.

Euro car parts should be able to supply a head gasket kit.

You do find that car places are run by old men who don't know what the internet is. Try yellow pages (www.yell.com).

1.7s are a but more troublesome than 1.4s, so exersise extra care and hear it running first if its a 1.7.

Orlando engineering in Eversley near Fleet (off M3) can probably advise you as he is a 340 specialist
