90 to 93 Estate
Due to a re think (and seeing some very cool estates) i have now changed my search from saloon to estate.
Looking for a 1990 onwards 240 estate 2.3 LH2.4 - must Must be manual 5 speed gearbox This will be the base for a B230FT turbo engine transplant. Must be a tidy solid car as this will be my daily retro cruiser. I would prefer leather interior but will consider other good condition cars. Looking for around 150k max mileage at this point. Must have a reasonable level of service history Cash waiting Kind regards Simon Last edited by STW240; May 17th, 2013 at 22:09. |

You could be ruling out some decent cars by insisting on 2.3 only, which doesn't make sense if you will be fitting a B230ft anyway.

Hi Jonah,
I am still learning the finer details of the volvo specs. My intention by insisting on a 2.3 with LH2.4 engine management is that the 230ft engine runs on the same management making the engine swap 'plug in' in terms on the electrical side of things which i am less confident with. Any other ways of doing it will be greatfully received. Members on this forum are teaching me alot, which i am grateful for. Thanks Simon |

ECUs are different between 2.0 and 2.3, but as you'll be swapping them for turbo ECUs it doesn't matter. The rest is the same.

After viewing a potential car at the weekend which turned out to be in unsuitable condition i am still looking for a 240 wagon as described.

Thanks for your interest, been driving my new (and 1st) volvo around everyday for 3 wks now and love it ! Already done a classic car show in it. & i'll be at retro show at santa pod a wk on sunday getting ideas.
I need to sell my Audi to make room & i'll start thinking about getting it a bit (well a lot) closer to the ground. Also going to put it on LPG to combat running costs. Im refitting my house right now, but 230ft conversion is planned for next year. Thanks for all the help so far & all of that to come. I'll try my best to put info up on forums as i go. |
