Default Auto Closing Tailgate

If it has already been posted I apologise, but volvosweden posted (on July 12) a version 3 of the tailgate closing module on youtube. With this version, everything is installed in the tailgate itself. Does anyone know what it has cost in the past - I'm tempted.

Well now. I have just ordered said version 3 for my V70, and as I understand it, the unit is now installed in the roof lining, not the tailgate as you seem to believe. At least, that's how I read it. I purchased mine straight from the supplier via Paypal at a cost of 70 euros + 10 euros P&P.
I would imagine your XC70 is installed in the same way.
If I can help further, please say.

Your right - I'm not sure why I typed that I've now watched the youtube video again, and it's very obvious that everything is in the roof lining - put it down to old age!! As I said I'm tempted to do this conversion - it looks a very straightforward job.

I have the earlier version in the tailgate. I have it a year and no problem whatsoever. Very pleased with their products. I also have the tail light unit too, thought if I was already paying postage then why not!

I understand that the latest version of the auto-close module V.3 plugs into the OBD2 socket and needs no installation. When the socket is needed for diagnostics the module is simply unplugged and then replaced when the socket is again available. This module also contains other features. Contact Evgeny Kosourov <moduleorder@gmail.com>

I have V.2 which is wired into the loom in the tailgate. I didn't think that there was one that needed to be put in the head lining which seems a counter productive move. I'd not want to open the head lining. The tailgate panels are easy to remove. But plugging into the OBD2 socket is so easy that it could not be made easier!

It's the headlining plastic panel at the rear - literally pops off after you remove one bolt holding it up under the rear roof light. MUCH easier than the tailgate which has many fittings and clips! If you have keyless there's more complexity to removing the tailgate panel too as there's an extra (damn short!) loom and aerials on the inside of the panel.

V3 is not a OBD2 plugin, not sure if he offers that yet but would be a nice idea.

The OBD2 module is actually V4.
I've got it and far less of a faff than my previous experience of fitting the original V1 module to my previous V70 and even then it only worked intermittently.
I like the V4 as it also allows auto door unlocking when the ignition is turned off and the "permanent" switch off of the Stop-Start functionality.
Now i need Evgeny to come up with a module for the post facelift upper tailights to act as brakelights.

How much was v4? Surprised he doesn't advertise this on his YouTube page!
