None a/c 940 heater hoses
Does anyone know if the two heater hoses from the heater core/matrix are available NEW, I think one goes from the matrix to the bulkhead, the other to the control valve, I just think worth having for spares.

I believe they're just a small bend section so you could order a generic bit of hose with correct formed bend and internal diameter.

They are still available new. Brookhouse and FRF should be able to sort you out

I thought the only difference between a/c and non-a/c was that cars with factory a/c have the heater valve in the lower heater hose under the bonnet rather than in the bulkhead. I think Volvo sell the same hose for both and it is marked where to cut it to insert the heater valve, if applicable.
When my local garage replaced the heater hoses on my B230FK 940 with factory a/c a few years ago they used Volvo part numbers 1336133 - upper 3507447 - lower, incorporating the heater valve When I ordered some from Skandix last year to have some in stock they supplied 3507412 - upper 3507413 - lower Which I realise now are probably for LHD. I wonder if they could be bodged to fit, but they may not be long enough as I think the LHD heater pipes go through the bulkhead on the opposite side of the engine. I have also previously bought some of this with a view to making my own heater hose, if necessary. I think the 16mm is the right bore. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353349957331 The advantage of this is that it is very flexible and the spiral reinforcing wire means you can bend it without restricting the bore. The disadvantage is that it is very thick and horrible stuff to work with. In the event, the car that I thought might have a leaky heater hose was actually leaking from the heater valve. So I replaced that and reused the existing hoses. |
