It now has a unicorn airbrushed on the side, and is half purple

The rear spoiler and bonnet bulge have gone though. And the front lights. Maybe he read your comments and took them to heart?

see if it was all purple withought the unicorn and that half a plane stuck on the back i think it would look not bad

The problem with removing bodily parts is he'd have no urge to spend some time alone or with his "partner" which would leave him at a loose end with even more time to lavish on the poor Volvo.
