Space saver

Future son in law has a 2018 S60 (non thors hammer lights) it's got the compressor and pot of gunk. A 17" space saver (ex my V70) won't fit under the boot and eBay says the space saver should be 16"..however the space under the boot floor does not appear to be big enough for even a 16" space saver.
Worryingly this site seems to say that no space saver will fit although as yet I have found nothing that conclusively proves the fit/won't fit either way.
I have even seen suggestions the boot floor is different depending on if the space saver option is selected at the build option.
Is their a definitive answer??

Not an S60, but my same era V60 came without a space saver but had the compressor and gunk. I bought a Tempa wheel on eBay (along with the brace and jack, etc) and it does all fit. Only problem is that there's no threaded hole to insert the wheel securing screw, so I reckon they must be made differently if you specify a spare. Not sure, but I think it's a 16" wheel.

I bought a space saver 16" for my 2011 s60 and put it under the floor of the boot but it does stick up about 4 inches. I see on some later models there is a spare.

In my old V60 I stuck a spare under the floor, but the floor was higher than the S60 - flush with the bumper. Volvo do an official spare kit for the S60II which includes a new under floor tray to contain the spare that also remounts the boot floor higher. You can see it in the installation instructions
