ETM same probs.
I have my S60 from the UK living in Trinidad and has the same problem...went into the dealership and they diagnosed mines wanted changing...wil cost me in the vicinity of $10,000 TT or nerly $1600 USD tohave it done.So I am looking to do the same cleaning but the problem with me is that hardly any mech wants to touch these cars here...next thing ...this ETM needs someone to have the time and do it carefully. Itried looking at it several times but it need quite some work and I do not want to start and have to reach half way without finishing. I have the VADIS version of taking it out...think I downloaded it somewhere but it actually means taking off the injector rails etc, the manifold and having gaskets etc for replacing these. At this point you would be cleaning yours and replacing it.
Do email me at trinirascal@gmail.com if you need the VADIS help. Hope you get through soon. |

Not sure with the 2.4 but with my S80 2.0T it took me around 45 mins to get the ETM out. I did not remove the fan or anything else.
What helps is a mirror to see the bolts, a 8mm socket and 8 mm wrench. Basically you have to feel for the bolts and guide your tools to it by touch. Once you know where the bolts are and can visualize it, installing it again was easier. |
