Another new pump motor and same issue so I know it isn't that. Always the same, everything works for a few seconds then stops pumping water. Just front connected works fine. Connect rear and water stops pumping to front and back. Leave pipes off and water jets out of both sides all day long.
Thought plug onto pump may be fault so removed wires and attached direct to motor, same issue. My only possible thought is something is happening with rear motor but this is proving impossible to fix!

It's gotta be blocked pipes/jets IMO, either that or broken ones but the fact it does work sometimes kind of rules that out...
We had a lot of trouble with the washer on one of our Xantias where it'd work for a few seconds then either go weak/one jet or nothing. it was crap in the pipework and jets.

The way things are going I'm gonna have to put seal off the rear washer and put the car back together. Luckily I haven't needed it recently but really need to look to getting it on the road now. Only other thing I could think of was a faulty stalk on the wheel but feel this is unlikely? Appreciate all the advice :-)

Be cautious about using compressed air; it’s very easy to ramp up the pressure far higher than a pipe connector normally sees and then you’ll split a pipe apart introducing a further problem rather than enact a solution.
Ask me how I know...... |

How do you....hahaha
I have one of these electric air blower for pc's etc so might be ok as less powerful than a hose line.

I've replaced the pump motor yet again and also now replaced the plug and terminals going onto it.
I now have no power to the pump whatsoever and it does nothing! This is just going from worse to worse :-( Checked obvious fuses and all seems ok. No reading at the pump whatsoever. Can anyone please shed any possible light on this before I lose all of my hair? Many thanks.

S80 windscreen washer no water - cycle pump trick
Quote:
I also then added warm/hot water to see if that would release anything.. Yes it did. See the photo of the bucket where we collected the water we siphoned off from the tank and you can see lots of thicker blue strands almost like cotton. There seems to have been a build up of the washer fluid chemicals. I buy my washer fluid from Morrisons so may be time to change supplier. Washers not working = MOT failure and I have an MOT on Monday!!!
