Default 307k, Not out...

Well I've had my V70 now since May last year, I collected it from Bristol and didn't fell with it right away. It had quite a few snags but I got it how I wanted, had the dash rebuilt, changed an injector and ran it for 6 months.

This is her not long after I got her.

In November, an escaped dog ran out in front of me one night on a dark, 50mph road. Needless to say it didn't end well for either party. The insurers for the dog owner have dragged it out for nearly 10 months and have finally offered me a non negotiable sum which is not enough to even get a broken replacement.

So tonight I started a mission to return her to the road. It'll not be easy, and there are a lot of bent bits as well as a busted radiator.

I will add tonight's photos when the forum allows me to.

I hope the irony of your username is not lost, given the cause of the damage... Ouch though, that doesn't look good. Must be worth repairing though as it's eligible for a silver high mileage badge, that alone would spur me on.

Good luck with the repair.

Default Dog?

What breed of BIG dog was it?

Front end parts are where breakers make their money. "Cars have a tendency to go forward when they're driven", said a junkyard guy to me once.

You could disassemble it and decide if you want to go forward or not. Done any calling around?

To bad your cat wasn't looking at the camera when you snapped the photo.

I've taken to sourcing parts myself, there are a few being broken locally to get me started, but I want to try and find panels in the correct colour ideally (416-26) if anyone has anything?

The dog was a Great Dane, as I've said elsewhere, I thought it was a small deer.

Anyhow I've found a few parts to get me started, mostly the hidden stuff, I will probably get a new radiator though.

Well after a good run down to that London, I managed to procure a complete V70 petrol auto to raid for parts.

The drive back was uneventful, the KFC from Baldock services was terrible.

First impressions are that the auto box is past it's best, and the front brakes are shot.

It is the same paint code as my car so hopefully the repairs should be straightforward.

Quite a bit of work needed there.. Maybe a better idea to keep it as spare parts ?

The fender is not fun to replace, has some hard to reach bolts not to mention some are hard to turn, the lower one is impossible to reach behind the plastic trim.. The upper connecting plate with the hood latches and rad support also bent... A decent project

I have the wing and bonnet done and have just had a new radiator and intercooler arrive for it.

It is a lot of work, but as I can't afford a better replacement this is the plan for Noe!
