Anyone had any experience with owning a triumph? My wife likes them and being a British company appeals to me- don't know why, hasn't bothered me in the past. I keep hearing the same "nice bikes.......but" etc and internet is full of reliability stories.

Are they reliable? Would you have one?
Had an early mk2 speed triple, the t508. Lovely bike, but I just couldn't get on with it, so it's been moved on and replaced with a fazer 1000.
The triumph had no reliability issues but, as someone said above, it was quite mechanically noisey. I found it to hard on the suspension for my taste.

Strangely I didn't get on with mine either, I think they're an acquired taste, found the handling a bit odd too, maybe I had a bad one. It got replaced with a Yam MT-01 that I treated myself for my 40th birthday, had that for 9 years now.

Loved my Buell X1-Lightning. Bought it new in 2000, it was less than reliable (quite a list of issues) & the gearshift was a bit agricultural but I still loved it

Loved the look of the triple, just couldn't get the thing round bends!

MT-01 that one is definitely on my wish list!

I remember following a triumph speed triple in Cardiff traffic and the exhaust note was fantastic like something off a race track
