Datalogger on ECU
Does anyone use a Datalogger attached to their ECU and which type ?
More specifically are 1998 S40 T4 ECU's OBDII compatible and can I connect to it ? I'm looking into buying the PalmOS Pocketlogger ($155) but it only supports OBDI & OBDII. Cheers, John (previously posted on vvspy) |

RE: Datalogger on ECU
What are you hoping to log over the OBD port?
I've used similar things before and the update rate is soooo slow it's not normally very useful :( |

RE: Datalogger on ECU
I'm looking to use it to learn about tuning engines, namely my own. http://www.pocketlogger.com/ records some of the things I'm interested in RPM, Knock Sum and Timing Advance, but there doesn't appear to be a boost pressure sensor :-(
I just want to gauge what performance improvements puting in new spark plus, leads and stuff does. I don't want to spend a fortune on it and http://www.aeswave.com/ CJ-II is too expensive at $369. Cheers, John |

RE: Datalogger on ECU
Hi.
x40 turbo cars don't have boost sensors. They calculate what the boost is by taking readings from the Lambda sensor, the MAF sensor and the Intake temperature sensor. Cheers, Dan. |
