My2010 XC90 - lack of in car illumination
Just been in the back of an XC90 tonight in the dark and surprised that the only illumination is on the window switches. Not even the 12v lighter or ashtray is illuminated - is this right ? - seems a bit basic to me.
Also - do any XC90's have footwell illumination for the 2nd row seats ? Thanks |

Er...Yes and no...I think!
But you are right, a bit more illumination should be in cars. They have a sun roof to let light in during the day but once the night sets in... you are just left groping in the dark ... |

The lack of any real illumination is a bit of a surprise really ...
Maybe I've been spoiled , as my last car had illuminated air vents, back lit door levers, back lit cupholder / coin holders, armrest , 12v socket / ashtray and overhead glow lighting to light centre area around gear lever. It also had foot well lights in all 4 footwells, puddle lights on all 4 doors and red lit reflectors on all 4 doors and the boot. The XC90 has front foot well lights and an illuminated ignition key and that appears to be it. |

What I find really annoying is the electric seat memories are not illuminated. Makes it that much more awkward when switching between my settings and the wife's.

On ours, the settings are coded to the key? As long as you know who's key is whose and stick to them, you should find that when you open the car with your key, it will set seat / mirrors to your setting.

I'd never really noticed the lack of illumination in the rear seats, but then again I never sit in the back.
