Default Dremel - or not

Hi all

This is not an ad, and I am not sponsored!

A couple of years ago I bought a Dremel 3000 because my cheap brand couldn't supply replacement motor brushes.

I wish I had bought this long before, because it introduced me to the EZ SpeedClic cutting disks.

The way the cutting disk mounts is much better than the weak single central screw that is used on the cheaper brands.

It really makes short work of slicing into hard metal (and presumably other stuff as well).

If you shop around the Dremel 3000 is available for as little as £38 (I paid about double that). If you are lucky they will include a sample EZ SpeedClic disk.

HTH
Steve

I've found their Tungsten Carbide Cutters are also greatly superior to the usual cheap cutting or engraving tools, a bit pricey but they just keep on cutting and can get into places a disc doesn't work.
(safety note - avoid the shavings that they produce as they're like metal splinters that get under your skin)

Yep, had a couple of cheapo ones in the past and with a pig of job to do that had limited space to work in I invested in a cordless Dremel in a nice case with a spare battery. Well worth it in my eyes.
The EZ SpeedClic abrasive buffs come in handy too for deburring and polishing.

Thumbs up

Thanks Steve - I have a cheapo imitation with the single screw fitment which is really annoying because, as you know, it always comes loose. Its a great tool otherwise, very versatile.

I thought all these tools had the same method of securing the tool/cutter so will hunt down a Dremel when I need a replacement. Thanks again!

You don't need a Dremel, just the EZ SpeedClic mandrel and disc's.
Something like this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/DREMEL-EZ68.../dp/B002Q8T4OM

Had plenty of them

On a plus side though - I've just managed to get Vida installed on a Win 10 laptop
