Thats interesting. Are you now going to try and find out the original colour code and go for a exact colour match? Or just go for a nice light blue?

No we are still going for our original plan of light blue volvo code #89 but it appears to be a very similar colour under the dark blue .

Hi Gillberry

Great to see you project, love the amazon estate! Keep going, I'm sure she'll reward you handsomely!

Just out of interest, what is the colour code on the chassis plate? Then you'd know for sure what the original colour was.

It looks pretty good. Should be fantastic when it's all done.

I'm looking forward to more updates!

Interesting that it's already seems to have had a full windows and everything out respray previously. Can't see any light blue in the pics except possibly around the nearside rear light mount? What is the "Farg" number on the info plate above the master cylinders? #89 for light blue. Having a 2 door in this colour I totally approve.
If you want some pics of just how nice this colour does look on an Amazon, sorry it's not an estate, you might like to browse through this thread. Photo quality is excellent too and makes looking at these very worthwhile. A lot to see, so try it before you start a coffee. It'll be cold before you finish...........

I have to say that is one gorgeous Amazon! That colour suits the car perfectly as well.

Hi Derek just looked thru the pics and interestingly depending on light the colour looks grey which explains a lot regrding us thinking it was grey primer showing thru . The guy doing the resto was the one who spotted that she had been resprayed and now she is stripped out you can see that it was a good quality respray 1st time as it looks like thats been added to over time .

Got hold of a good bonnet yesterday (ours had gone on the front) so dropped it off at the restorers . They'd done a bit more since last there but forgot my camera so a poor mobile phone pic to show the work .

When they took the sill cover off the rear 1/3 was rotten so its a good job We've been able to get them new replacements . For a car that looked pretty decent it just shows you don't know what lurks .
