Default Autel MaxiDiag Scan Tool MD801

Does anybody own or have any experience with this unit?
I am thinking of getting one, interested to know how compatible with a 99 v40.

Never heard of this model before. Having a quick look online I found this:

MD801 = JP701 + EU702 + US703 + FR704

which indicates it's 4 in 1. In that case it should be ok.

JP701, EU702, US703, FR704 are all exactly the same hardware but different software for different cars. I bought the JP701 scan tool (japanese cars) and I loaded the Volvo file (ask me if you need it) and some other European cars. So my scan tool is effectively an EU702 and a FR704 and of course a JP701. Didn't bother with US cars file for obvious reasons.

Just to add something. If you can get hold of the MD801 cheaper than the EU702 then go for it. If it is more, then I would rather go for the EU702.

If I was you, I would do a quick search to make 100% sure that the EU702 works with your 1999 car. If you can confirm for sure that it does, then I can assume that the MD801 will work too.

Just to let you know, The EU702 works nicely with petrol cars but cannot communicate with Diesel ones. It will still reset the SRS and Service light and access the ABS system but it will not read any engine codes of diesel cars.

Seller says both are compatible, reason for the 609 is it will clear the codes as well.

The MS609 seems to be a new addition and I cannot confirm how it will work. It is in the mid-priced region along the EU702, so it may do the trick.

lol. In that case it should work if it is all in one (JP701, EU702, US703, FR704). Are you buying via ebay or directly from manufacturer?

If it is via ebay you will probably be able to return it in case it does not work. What do you need it for btw? SRS light reset, or fault code finding?

Buying from ebay. Mostly wanted for fault codes at this stage. Having the extra features also will save on an extra purchase in the future.

Hi gato, does the EU702 erase codes and turn off warning lights?
Autels website says so but the sellers page just mentions reading.
cheers
