Default dealer price of timing belt kit

has anyone got an idea of what a dealer charges to change the timing belt, pulley, idler and outer/auxiliary belt on a 1997 volvo t5?

No, but I do know that when I needed to replace mine I just booked it in for an 80k service - the timing belt is included. I can't remember prices (it was 2004) but it was certainly cheaper than a stand-alone job.

Have you not got a local indie who could do it, or are you just comparing charges?

I have just bought a aux belt, timing belt, adjuster and idler the rough cost was £30 per piece,
It's a tricky job for a diy out in the cold,

Gary.

Main dealer - hundreds, go to an independent Volvo garage if you can get to one much cheaper. Dont touch the likes of Quick Fart.

Default thanks for replies

i just got a friend of a friend to do it, and just wanted to check i wasnt getting ripped off.
cambelt, auxillary belt, pulley and idler, £321. but he also did some body work in with it, which he previously quoted £120.
so that doesnt seem too bad.
next costs will be road tax, no doubt thatll be rising again !!!
