STEERING OR SUSPENSION NOISE?
Three days back while parking in the drive i noticed an awful noise when i put the right hand steering lock on.The steering is ok no leaks or cathing on anything the noise sounds like a grinding noise from the suspension. There is no noise when the left lock is on or when the wheels are straight but when starting to turn right there is an awful grinding noise. When the car is jacked off the ground the noise stops but when you put it back on the ground and pressure is placed pack on the parts the noise starts again.Cheaked spring not broken, cheaked bushes not worn, checked ball joint and track rod end no wear. The only thing i can see is very very little play in suspension top mount compared to left hand side, but this part looks ok too.Shall i just spray parts with WD40 and see what happens? Can anybody help MANY THANKS

RE: STEERING OR SUSPENSION NOISE?
i have had exactly the same noise on my T5 on full lock but only when turning over bumpy surfaces, i can't remember exactly what it is called but i think there is a bump stop on that side (a plate) mechanic re-greased it and it is now silent.
Prior to this i had a slightly differnt noise from Bridgestone front tyres fouling on the inner lining where the mud flap is attached however on Goodyear F1 no noise. 855 T5 |
