Further to previous post, I had a quick look at mine. Can't see anything too special about the IE11 settings, but I also can't remember if IE11 on Win7 trusts local host addresses by default or not either. For starters, make sure you've got localhost specified here (screenshot from mine):
Beyond that, if you look on the 'custom level...' button options, you might need to enable javascript or ActiveX to run. I can reference my settings if needed, but again can't remember if I changed any originally as I just followed CheshireD5's instructions and only use the Win7 laptop for Vida anyway. However, generally that kind of thing where a web page has an inactive box is related to a blocked extension/plugin so trusting the site it might sort it

Just to add on this point, I've got a Computer Systems Engineering degree and have worked in that field in various roles for over 20 years... and I still just bought a ready made, tested kit from CheshireD5 to avoid the hassle. I have enough computer system 'challenges' every day for work, so don't enjoy them at home...

I don't mind a bit of a challenge and the feeling of success when things work, and I tend to get more determined when these things don't go well. Sometimes however the sledge hammer come out when patience ends and anger takes over. Hope that doesn't happen in this case I now have Vida installed and working on a VM but still MUST get it sorted as a direct install. Quote:
From what I've read, there's a patch that is supposed to fix it [VIDA Install Fix.exe]. I've installed it but no different.

I'll keep searching for answers and/or hope some more helpful folks pop up with a suggestion/fix. Would be nice to upload some instructions so others don't need to go through the same "challenge".

Just to close this off. I've now installed Vida both on a Virtual Machine and also as a direct install.
To help others that may be looking to install this Vida software and buy a Dice unit I've outlined a how to install Vida on a virtual machine here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...84#post2664984 Hopefully this will eliminate a lot of the crap I had to go through to get it. I'll follow up with a how to install Vida software as a direct install when I get some time.
