Default Volvo 240's in the UK

Do they ever pop up for sale?

Quite fancy one for a next project, though they seem very thin on the ground. Anyone on here have one ?

Loads all the time. Check out autotrader, gumtree and ebay.

Have you posted in the right section? Should this not be in the 240 section?

Should you not have just looked first?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Cars-Motor..._nkw=volvo+240

There's at least 5 for starters

Plenty around, though not as many as there were a few years ago. prices have gone up too, expect to pay £500-£800 for a runner with MOT/tax but some work to do, and the upper end is up for debate - a few months ago I'd have said £1500 for a pristine one, but I've seen a few go for over £2000 now.

Plenty in the 240 section to read, and a fair few modded ones about though the owners tend to be fairly quiet.

I'd recommend a 240 GLT if you want to keep it N/A, or a 1991+ GL, SE or Torslanda if you want to go for turbo power.

Why do you say the Torslanda for turbo power? Just curious...because I have a Torslanda which will eventually be turbo'd! Is that just due to the lack of gadgets to complicate matters?

At a guess I would imagine using a torslanda due to it's age and possible having the correct wiring and ecu?
Just a guess mind.

Yup, 1991+ 240s have the LH2.4 engine management, which is the same as a 940 turbo so the wiring for a turbo engine swap is already in place with minimal modifications needed. 1991+ trim levels were GL, SE and Torslanda only, the other trim levels were dropped for the last few years of production.
