  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Update:

So the car has arrived at the independent garage.

Despite being told not to do anything they said they "removed the cover and only looked at what Volvo Chester had already done"

They are advising that "it looks like the fuel pump has seized solid and has snapped the cam belt"

They are awaiting the independent mechanic tomorrow before doing any more work.

Given i know nothing of engines does this sound feasible?

No of course not .
you haven't told us if he used Genuine Volvo parts yet ..

While accepting that Volvo parts should be beyond suspicion, if the fuel pump seized (and should be easy to confirm) then does it matter what make the fitted cambelt was?

Is this definitely a 5-cylinder engine?

the VEA is a D5 too . you cant get the 5 cylinder in the new xc90 ..

I honestly didn't know seizing fuel pumps was even a thing! When did that start?
