Not a lot of difference, I only only noticed the difference after it was replaced, a slightly better acceleration from slow speeds.

Mine has now gone twice. First time in a spectacular bang. The second no noticeable impact. However now I am aware of the before and after I would suggest the following symptoms are indicators. Engine rattles more at take off from low speeds. Acceleration when turning into minor roads for example is all or nothing with obvious turbo lag. Also when PP is working car makes an additional turbo related noise which can be heard with window down. The later not being relevant if its not working.
