Default Calling seasoned V50 owners

Prior to the long awaited delivery of my D5 R-design i'd like to know what you like about your car.

Is there some finer detail you really like, which normally wouldn't get a mention?

When a buyer gets his wheels for a while they are (or rather I am) overwhelmed by the whole experience, not noticing the little things.
ie not seeing the wood for the trees so to speak.

Don't be afraid I want to know everything so come on, speak out ;-)

Not yet a "seasoned owner", but...

I like that the rain sensing wipers can be turned off and you can use the variable intermittent setting instead. Not having this option on my old car drove me to distraction.

I also love the look and operation of the bi-xenon front lights.

I only wish I had the egg-box grille that the newer model has. The chrome toast rack grille mine has is OK, but I'd just prefer the other one.

Safe Roads!!

Firstly is that you in the video clip at the bottom of your post?
Didn't you learn from the first time you might crash before doing it again and again!?!?! I know i'm blonde but that takes the biscuit hahahahaa

Anyway on a serious note, I didn't opt for rain sensors as I prefer to do some things manually. However I did opt for Xenons after having them on my Saab I wouldn't be without them.

I also got the high performance radio & foldy mirrors which are now standard I believe.

I can't work out why the D5 didn't get the nifty lift up carry bag restrainer on the boot floor?? That I would've liked. Aren't sporty versions allowed to go shopping?

I'm also looking forward to the engine noise as i heard they're quite throaty for a diesel. Also the chunky steering wheel as mine is like a 1980's bus wheel!

This will be my first estate too so that in itself will be different.

I have a T5 AWD with high power stereo, rain sensors, foldy mirrors and the carier bag restariners.

The rain sensors i woud not be without... They work perfectly on my car and unless it´s simply spittting I don use anything else.

The bi-xenon headlights are *brilliant* I´ve never had visibility at night like it.

The stereo is great - also the best I´ve had, great sound, great volume and with the latest software upgrade the speed related volume just enhances this.

The other goodies (phone, leather, sat nav, leccy seats etc) are just great.

The bag carrier is *so* useful - but i would not pay the premium - 100ś of euros over here apparently - if I brought the car new... Thankfully it just had it when I got it second hand.

Bad things??? Nothing really specific in the last 14 months... Some issues but the dealer sorted 90% of them without fusss...

Enjoy the torque!

*Laughs*

I'm OK now. The skin grafts are taking nicely.

This is probably the thing I like most with my D5. Can sound a bit agricultural when idling, but put your foot down and you're rewarded with a fantastic 5 cylinder warble. Very undiesel. Not too dissimilar from the noise my 2.4 V70 petrol used to make...
