Default front parking sensors ?

Hi all,
it looks like my front bumper is fitted with parking sensors ???? , I think they were offered as a option when new but how are they activated ? as I don't think they are working or not turned on. The rear ones work fine. cheers phil..

Switch in front of gear stick, bottom of centre panel.
Mine has default on when engine starts.

Two switchable methods of working I was told; mine are activated at start up or when reverse is engaged and then will continue to work up to circa 7mph, the other switching I think is at all times under 7mph.

With the former set up you need to switch on parking sensors manually when diving head first into a space as reverse hasn't previously been selected.

I stand to be corrected, a handy dealer option in my opinion, was £550 at Volvo fitted.
