Default XC90 second hand buying advice

Hi all

Having had two XC60 company cars in a row I fancy an upgrade now that I’m paying for the car out of my own pocket. I want to go for a well specced XC90 plenty of options, minimum 2 years old. Question is, do I got for the T8 and spend extra on lots of standard kit and enjoy the silly acceleration or do I go for one of the mild hybrids and save myself a few quid each month on the PCP deal. I would like to spec out a new car but unfortunately I’m in the position of needing a car more urgently. If it’s relevant, most journeys are under a 30 mile round trip with once a month longer trips.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

In my opinion, since the majority of your journeys are less 30 miles I would go for the T8.
PHEV's work best when you can charge regularly and utilise the battery range on short journeys. Maybe the fuel saving will help cover the extra on the PCP

If you do use the "silly acceleration" frequently, then be prepared for fuel consumption in the low twenties....

Silly acceleration is more of a party trick and in fairness I will only drive it at weekends. It would be the daily driver for my wife.
