Default shell optimax

I've read at lot recentley about Shell Optimax and have given it a quick test. I found it stopped "pinking" when pulling hard with the caravan on the back of my 760 turbo (B230 ET), the higher RON was responsible for that no doubt.

I also got the impression that I got better MPG, but at the time was checking mileage so I can't be sure.

Does anyone have any experience with this fuel?

Without a doubt it works better in the T4 which is supposed to work better with 98 Ron.

I get 3 - 4 more mpg using it plus smoother and more rapid acceleration.

The car loves it!

I've found Optimax to be by far the best fuel as far as the engine is concerned, and even though it is a few pence more per litre than 95 RON, the usual 20 quid's worth takes me a little further than 20 quid's worth of the plain stuff, so in the end, costs less! Bargain!

Can anyone tell me please, is Optimax in any way different to the 98 oct. sold by garages such as Sainsburys?
Thankyou
