Default 940 LPT Estate - with added vitamins - value?

I said a few weeks ago that I was mothballing my beloved 940 Estate rather than selling now I have the soulless V70 however an option has been presented to buy something I've been looking for for a while so I'm considering options.

1997 940 Estate, LPT but with an MBC and gauge, IDP type underbody chassis brace, strut brace, 960 front ARB, rear twin ARB mod, rear Bilsteins and HD rear springs. Swedish stainless performance exhaust from Cat back.
That's go that out of the way.
The car had travelled 205K miles, the last 60K in my ownership. It is totally reliable and I'd happily jump in now and go anywhere (except it's SORN at the moment). MoT to November 2023. I did two 500 mile round trips over the Christmas week.
Body is pretty much rust free apart from surface rust on the inner area of rear sill on one side. Otherwise all original underseal intact. A couple of small cauliflowers under the paintwork and a few minor scratches in the dark blue metallic paintwork.
5 Galaxy wheels fitted with decent Michelin Crossclimates and 5 original 15" alloys with worn tyres and two steel spares. THe Galaxies have been painted but need refinishing for a show car.
Interior is tidy, no rips or tears, door cards are good, has a Sony radio/CD fitted (optional I can refit the original 906 item).
Windscreen is original, unfortunately has a small chip and a small crack in the bottom corner. It's been there for at least the last 5 years but I don't want to replace the screen as at the moment it doesn't leak and a replacement might.
Tow bar with 7 pin electrics. In my time it has pulled a small race car on a trailer 4 times.
In the last couple of years, I've replaced the radiator and hoses (2022), front discs (2022) and calipers (2021), master cylinder (2020ish) front side lights and regular oil changes etc.
Only faults that I can recall - there's a screech sometimes when driving off from standstill - believed to be spigot bearing, it's not got any worse in my 8 years of ownership. The O/S rear window doesn't go up or down. Doors (central locking) open on a key, no idea where the "blipper" went. Does tend to leak rather than burn a little oil and loses a tiny bit of coolant over the weeks (might be reservoir).
And that's about it.
I've no idea of it's current value, some might say it's starting to increase. I still love the car but with 4 currently plus my wife's it's getting crowded here. Son will be looking for a car now at 17 too! Am I being ridiculous at £4000? I've seen cars advertised at more and much less.
A portfolio of photos is available on Flickr for anyone seriously interested.
Thanks for reading if you've got this far.

It's so tricky to put a price on these days as traders/chancers advertise for silly money and they sit for years. Galaxies alone are worth at least £500.

I would say £2.5k would be more realistic but it depends on how long you want to wait

I'd say £4k is ridiculous unless it's bodily near perfect. £3k would be closer to the money, but I'd be looking for a head gasket change at that mileage too. If it hasn't been done, it's almost certainly in the car's short to medium term future.

Thanks Guys, I think these cars are just about at the bottom of the depreciation curve and will likely start to rise over the next few years. 240s are on the up, not sure on the 740 yet.
There's not many 740/940 left, certainly around where I live and folk know them as strong & dependable. Do see a couple of decent ones at shows.
Other marques/models from the 90s are starting to push north.
Not sure what to do with mine, mothball was the initial thought but I'm struggling to find room and with the son starting to learn there'll be less room. Add that to seeing something I'd rather like......
Will miss the 940 if it goes, so reliable and the styling gets classier every time I look at it. At maybe close to £4k it might be worth selling, at £2.5K I'll hold onto it. Heck, what else can you buy for £2.5K?

4K for a car that’s using oil and losing coolant is a little ambitious. I managed to get 2800 for an absolutely mint celebration with half the miles with an insane history.

Without the wheels I reckon it’s a £2000 car at best so it might pay to keep hold of it.

Probably around £1500. Any car with over 200k would have to be exceptional.

Prices have remained pretty consistently low over the last 13 years, bar a few exceptions.

Although there are some anomalies like this £3700 one, maybe it didn't sell at all though..

Benderloch, about 10 mile north of Oban.

If I make a purchase next week of a long time favourite car (I used to see it on the way to work in the 1970's) then I've got to sell something.
940 Estate
V70
Boxster S
Lotus Excel
I love them all in different ways (except the V70 which I bought at Christmas 'cos the wife wanted something easier to drive as a family car, but it's too soulless for me).
Might be the Boxster gets the push....
