RE: newbie here.............1 week to go
I've had the car for the past 5 days and it's great (-:
my first thoughts are it's fast, feels solid and well built, drives very smoothly and has more cubby holes and cup holders than I know what to do with. I'm not a fan of the running lights so for now I've switched them off. It also seems a bit thirsty but I've been booting it around everywhere which wont help. I like the DSA which stops it wheel spinning on gravel, etc. all in all it's a great car and everyone who's seen it cant believe Volvo actually make a car like it with 17" wheels, etc. my only niggles are dodgy fuel computer accuracy (see other post), it feels like it weighs 2 tonnes but the tyres really grip. I'm not overlay impressed with the dealer who supplied it either. I got the impression they thought I was taking the **** up until the point where I collected the car. It had been washed but not hoovered or leather cleaned (valetted), and they hadnt checked tyre pressures which were all over the shop. Maybe it's just me being paranoid but for the amount of money I was spending I expected better service than that ? anyway, I'm on holiday for a few weeks so here's to many more happy Volvo miles any comments would be appreciated |

RE: newbie here.............1 week to go
Bought my 2001 V40 about a month ago from the Taunton main dealer and they were excellent. When I had to take it back for a body work problem they simply arranged for it to be sorted by a Volvo body shop and lent me a new 2.0 sport for the week. Couldn't expect better service if I'd spent 20k on a V50! Sounds like your dealer should really be trying a little harder (it wasn't Taunton was it?)
Happy motoring. JonT |

RE: newbie here.............1 week to go
not Taunton. I got it from a Scottish Volvo Dealer.
I've since had it back for a quick tracking check and they couldn't be nicer. Only had to wait 30 mins, and there was ample tea/coffee/magazines to amuse me in that time. As far as I'm aware courtesy cars or lifts into town are not a problem. I'll have to take it back again as I've since noticed that there's more than enough oil climbing up the dipstick. As they were to check the levels, etc prior to me collecting the car I'll get them to check this and clarify if it's correct or not. So maybe I am just paranoid ? |
