Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply....I've had 2 mechanics now have a look and they think the engine has seized ....very sad ....the original mechanic is still sceptical though ?? So as a person who has no real knowledge of engines I'm a little stuck....the only thing I can think now is it's no longer cost effective to get it back on the road for me ...and hopefully it is worth something in spares and repairs ...
It's Volvo xc90 2004 with around 120k miles brand new mot ...if any ones interested please get on touch ..thanks again G x

Any advise or help would be gratefully appreciated so we can get the old girl going again ...thanks G
IF (and it's a BIG "IF") the garage got it running, then it wasn't seized at that time.

It might be now though...

With the injectors out, I think you ought to be able to spin the engine - if it doesn't go round, it is indeed seized (or hydro-locked as previously suggested - but then the fuel should shoot out of the injector ports)

RIP

Cheers

Dave
