Default 98 s40 door lock problem

Hi,
I have a 1998 S40. I have only owned it a few weeks, so have only just got around to fixing various problems. Have changed gear linkage bushes etc already. When i unlock the car, all locks unlock, and the plastic "buttons" pop up on all the doors. However, after a second or two the passenger door button drops down again into the locked position. Occasionally it doesn't do it. Could this be a problem with the linkage, or is it more likely to need a new motor?

Thanks,

David

Default Sticky Locks

Hi,

I had the same problem when I bought my 2001 s40. All i did to fix it was take the door panels off and clean and oil the lock parts. I also replaced the foam at the output of the lock buttons. This fixed the problem and cost nothing but time. Hopefully this will work for both of you.
