I agree a single trip can produce around the 35mpg, but average mpg in my case is 27.8 mpg.
I find the car computer very accurate, how about others.

My old D5 Polestar averages 34-36. Maybe 42 on a long run. I'm hoping this one will average 28-30 and 35 on a long run. We'll see.

Likewise with my current Polestar D5 - maybe a bit lower at c33 over 33,000 miles. But I will be pleasantly surprised if my new Polestar T5 achieves 28......especially if it goes as well as others have mentioned.

Interestingly, my non-polestared D5 (XC60) on longer highway trips returns 8.3-8.5 l/100km (33-34 mpg) in Eco mode - but in Individual (i used dynamic mode settings + eco for the A/C..) I get 8 l/100km (35+ mpg).. On local roads the factory eco mode is more efficient though..

That's pretty much what I experienced with my D5 and much the same what I get from my T5.
I think we all would like better economy, but you can't have everything life, I really couldn't live with a small engine producing 120bhp, well not yet anyway, maybe if I reach my nineties.

There isn't a 'Sport' mode as such on SPA cars and moving the gear stick to the left doesn't change the behaviour of the throttle and gearbox. However, you can alter these by switching to 'Dynamic' mode if your car has Drive Select (I don't know if that's now standard; it used to be an option).
