I agree about the folder view. Everyone understands the Artist/Album/Track folder structure so why not, at the very least, make it an optional view.
Thanks, don't worry too much as you will want to enjoy your car. There is no proper way to eject a USB, if there was that may have helped to re-register it. It seems to remember everything as it was when I re-insert it.
I am no expert on playlists, tags etc as I have never had to faff around like this before. I can understand the benefit of tags if you want to slice things up in different ways. I am using a program called Vox to create the playlist. I suppose on a positive note I am learning.

I took the USB stick that was in the car and loaded the 'Driving 5' album back into Mp3tag where I then changed the Artists tags so that 5 tracks were the same as before and 4 were given a new name. Took it back to the car and the changes were recognised immediately.

neon, are you definitely saving the changes you make in Mp3tag before removing the stick? You can check they are being correctly saved by forcing a re-read of the stick in Mp3tag after making any changes.

I also did a quick test of playlists and they worked fine too.

Just tried mine again now and it has picked it up this time. Tags and playlists. Will try a few more and see if it picks them up too.
