Default Making parking sensors more reactive

Pretty sure I know the answer but has anyone found a way to make them actually work as they should and not take so long to activate when parking?
I nearly reversed into a low bollard today as the sensors decided only to pick it up once I had finished reversing and engaged drive! Not the first time and it renders them fairly useless, which isnt ideal in a car as big as the v90....

Yep, as I think you already know the answer.
There is no way to adjust them apart from cleaning the external surfaces so if you are convinced that they are not operating as they used to in the past.......then it’s a trip to your Dealer.

It is pot luck whether any parking sensor will pick up every narrow post type of thing or even a bike. This is why you also have mirrors and most likely, and useful, a rear facing camera. All should be used and no one method relied upon.

My wife used none of them or pre-evaluation of the surroundings when she jumped into the Honda the oother week and reversed straight into some equipment. "But the sensor alarm didn’t go off" she said. In fact the sensor must have screamed in panic, for mercy, because it had been pushed into the bumper. The fact that this thing was huge [about four times the size of the car] and green and it was daylight and she had eyes, mirrors, reversing camera and the whole shebang apart from someone guiding her with a big loudspeaker and flags was irrelevant. It was the car’s fault and "who had parked that 15 ton machine there anyway?"

As with anything you are not happy about see your dealer , If you had done they would have done a software update which is designed to improve this ..

Would they do the software update as part of the routine service? My car is in next week and could do with the sensors being a bit more sensitive (lol), might just mention it anyway in case they need to be prompted.

just mention your problem and remind them there is a service bulletin .. however it will all be covered by the free service software update anyway ..
