D5 tuning box
Picked up a newly released dtuk/dte box the other day and have to say very happy with it.
Figures are an extra 35ps and 70 nm in new money, so about 266bhp and 405 ft lbs. It does give the big v90 a decent turn of speed now and the extra torque is noticeable. It livens up the engine response as well so good all round. Still needs a V6 really but this helps and makes eco mode on the motorway much more useable. Has 5 connectors, one each for the injectors and one for rpm measurement. |

Looking at the web site it appears that they do a box for the D4 so I could be interested in one for my next vehicle.

Why would that worry anyone who was not actually contemplating fitting one though? It's up to the individual whether they wish to risk their car with such gadgets or not. They can always whip it off before visiting the dealer if the dealer is of a particularly unhelpful persuasion. Most probably couldn't care less as long as the Volvo area service manager doesn't see it.

Because, asking questions like this, gives us an insight into the psyche of our fellow contributors, much as your reaction to the question has.

Indeed. You should have gathered that i’m Not bothered whether anyone chooses to fit tuning boxes, only whether they work or not. The risks are the owner’s business, taken after due consideration.

Yes anything like these are a risk but one of the reasons I like boxes is that they can be removed easily as opposed to a remap which cant. Decent boxes are far removed from a resistor in a box Ebay jobies as well. |

Perhaps the OP is unaware of the warranty issue and the person proposing the question is merely highlighting it to offer some insight. Nothing wrong with that. If the OP already knows, then fair one. Up to them.
