Wanted 700/900 estate with towbar
Hi all,
I'm currently looking for a reliable towcar for a trailer; I'm part of a caving expedition to Northern Spain, normally we have the use of a Land Rover but it has been denied to us this year, so we're looking for a reliable, powerful estate - what else but a Volvo! Our expedition can be found here http://www.oucc.org.uk/expeditions/expedition2009/index.htm We have about £1000 to spend and want to find a reliable car with MOT and Tax and a towbar - also it would be good if it was manual, the petrol costs and steep hills at the end of the journey make this a more sensible choice. The rest is extra I guess, no preferences on age, mileage or spec but would rather spend a bit more on a well looked after car which won't fail on us. Lastly, we would be looking to sell it on immediately after, so look out for it if we do buy one! Thanks, Paul |

Volvo 940 td Estate
Ref your advertisement for a Volvo Estate. I have a 940td estate (95) with 155k miles on the clock. I have 4 cars and there`s only the wife and I so when I bough a 960 last year, I garaged the estate in my gaffers garage. I brought it over yesterday to valet it, put it through a M.O.T. (this will be no problem) and advertise it for sale. It has always been totally reliable, as I have a house in France and it made numerous journeys there. It is metallic purple, I have just bought a safari type roofrack for it and it has a boot liner. There are one or two dings and dents, nothing serious, only shopping trolley type knocks, I have a new towbar I can have fitted at the MOT, and I was going to ask £1,100. As with all Volvo`s, there is absolutely no rust. Is this anygood? M.p.g. driving it carefully I could get 39ish to the gallon round town, a long run to France fully loaded about 36. I am in East Lancs, don`t know where you are, but you can come a view anytime,
Regards, Ken B. p.s. If you want to chat on the phone my number is 01254 887298. |
