mine has the big chrome grill on it thats all i can say its all new to me is there any other way of telling the difference

Early 960s have the same front on appearance as the later 760 cars. Face lift 960s are more rounded and some of the internal dimensions have changed, including the seat heights and thus the dog guard size. The dog guard width is the same but the drop is different, as are the end pieces that wrap round the head rests.
