checklist for new collecting new XC90
Hi All, We finally pick up our new XC90 on Monday. D5 Active basic spec except for metallic black, front parking sensors and Airbag on/off switch. It's been a long wait.
It's a little trek over to the dealers and I'd hate to get all the way home, start playing with it and find out that I've got to go back just to get something set up slightly different or altered or fixed in some way. So what should I check and play with before I set off home? I'm thinking of things like if there are any settings on the alarm that only the dealer can do such as auto re-arm, auto door locking etc. I've got the day off so I'm happy to make a day of it over there, pop out for a nice lunch, and maybe even take the wife out shopping while we're over that way. I'll check for the annoying little rattle on the passengers side that everyone talks about. Any other little niggles that anyone else found? Thanks in advance |

One thing I am going to ask them to check before I pick mine up is the tracking. Apparently it is not always set correctly at factory and the tyres wear out way too quick as a result. Oh and going to ask them to check the tyre pressures too.
Someone on here mentioned they didn't have stabilisation fitted or something. So going to ask if that is there. I'm a also going to push/pull/turn every dial and button before leaving the forecourt. |

1st January - expecting to pick up late March/Early April, but hopefully the car will be registered in March to avoid another £250 !

Do you mean self-leveling rear suspension? My car was one of a number that left the factory without it (last May/June). Also, rear wheel allignment in this batch was off. Both were subject to warranty rectification after being lettered by the supplying dealer.
The dash rattle does seem to have been fixed for me - I guess VCUK have figured out what fix(es) work by now. Interestingly, the rattle did not appear till the car was 4 months old. Good luck with the cars - even with all the annoying faults, it is still a great car! |
