'R' footwell carpets missing

I've had my car a good few months now (1999 V70R AWD) and the R logo mats were missing when I collected it. There are no mats in there at the moment. The garage from whom I bought the car said they would order some (black) but they haven't appeared despite reminders. They say they are still on order, so what I want to know is are they hoping I'll lose interest and give up, or are they really so damn rare that you have to wait this long before they can be supplied?

I tried to order some 'R' mats from my local Volvo garage a while back but they told me that they are no longer available and can only supply standard 'Volvo' ones!!!
However if I order anything for mine from the main dealer its usualy there next day (but be prepared to fork out over £100 for a set!!!!)

on ebay there are sets for £15.00. OK they are not original but they will do logo's for £2.00 a go.

i would have thought they could replicate the "R" logo.

Mmmm, I just wasn't sure if they actually had/have no intention of ordering them in the first place once I had left with the car. Even standard ones would be better than nothing, I'm rather suspicious now.

Will try one more time, though will probably get the same answer.

When i bought my R earlier last year my original mats had mysteriuosly disappeared, i would be interested to know if you mats eventually turn up from the dealer, as when i spoke to my dealer, they said they were available, but at a hefty £120, for the set.

Thought i stick with the rubber ones for now until the weather improves.

Having read the posts on this subject a few days ago I started to panic a little bit as I had intended to get some new mats for my '97 V70R before next years BKV.

Therefore as it seemed that they were getting hard to get I would try my local dealer (Kings Winchester).

I ordered them on Monday have have picked them up tonight !

So it seems some of your dealers are being economical with the truth or just dont know what their talking about.

I am told the R mats were produced in two colours, Tan & Black? although the box says Grey. When we looked inside the mats appeared to be Grey rather than the black I wanted, but the pile was very flat - if you draw your hand across the matt against the grain of the pile it then appears black (magic?).

For those interested the part number is 9187172, price £103 (before deduction of VOC discount) + VAT.

The is a stamp on the label which appears to be a date 08/10/98 so this suggests that the mats have been in stock since then.
