Default Tyre Squeal on S40 Diesel

My 'work' car is a 2005 and a half S40 2.0D. Lovely car, but it has recently taken to squealing its tyres rounding corners at quite modest speeds.
I'm not talking about 5mph here, but neither do I mean flogging it to the limit round the bends. The car has the original Pirelli P7 tyres, beautifully even wear, 19000 miles on them with about 3.5mm tread depth left on the fronts.
Hasn't seemed to effect the handling at all, but the noise is annoying, and might draw unwanted attention from the plod if it persists.
Tyre pressures are correct, checked weekly, never more than 1 to 2 psi out.

Anyone got any ideas

Suggest a wheel alignment check.

Tracking is perfect.
Squeals like a pig in multi-story car parks too, turning off and on the ramps.

Most cars will do this on any smooth concrete surface, especially if the tyres are warm.
If our tyres didn't make any noise then we would probably be complaining of lack of grip/traction/good stopping power, under other conditions.

Anyway look on bright side, you can always pretend that you're Starskey and Hutch without the risk of killing anyone. Oh by the way, for full effect paint car red with huge tapered white stripe down side.

Now I'm being silly!!

What's the wear like, are the tyres pretty worn down at the front?

Tracking could well be perfect, but it only squeals on turns, I again suggest a wheel ALIGNMENT check with special attention to toot ( toe out on turns ) an easy check you can do yourself is to count the threads on each of the track rods where they screw into the track rod end. If they are not equal then toot is wrong and every time you turn a corner the wheels are out of alignment, hence the squeal.
