Hello Roy,
Apologies for a late reply. I am afraid FRF was part of the problem dealers in my experience on this job.

I eventually bought all the parts online, and they came over with German tags all over the parcel. Apparently the head office is in Australia??! GAP (Genuine Auto Parts). All beautifully packed.

Default TOP SECRET part numbers

Today I also came across a really weird situation, I gave my Volvo dealer the number off my V70 fuel pump and asked for a quote for a new one.
Because I have been sold the wrong part before I asked them to confirm that the one they quoted for was the same part number - You would have thought I'd asked for The Pope's 'phone number !!!!!!

No way they were going to confirm that , must be covered by The Official Secrets Act.

The thing is , the number on the pump is unlikely to be the volvo retail part number , the number on a boxed new one will be on the box ok but not necessarily on the pump , The same goes for a lot ( not all ) of the parts . A Part number on a part which was new say 5 years ago is very likely to have been superseded now so the one in VIDA is likely to be different anyway .They have wasted a lot of time doing it before and they have a busy day .. That's how it works .. all they can do is look up the current part number of the part you want for your car .

what number was on your pump?
