We all want a bargain. But no price.

You want offers. But they can't be silly because nobody wants to insult you. Too timid to even give a ballpark starting point for negotiation, you secretly rely on goodwill to inflate peoples offers, instead they don't make them, and negotiation cannot commence.

You think curiosity provokes interest. As you can see, you're wrong, and this strategy is flawed - and obvious.

Busted.

Mate I don't really care what you think I have a price in mind that I want for it so if anyone was to offer the price I have in mind I'd sell for that no more but never mind I won't sell until it's sorted now. Secondly you don't know me so you can't really comment I'm not out to take anyone for a ride.

So, to summarise:
* You won't sell it for less (than the figure you have in mind)
* You promise not to sell it for more (as above)

Are you trying to begin a game of The Price Is Right?
Can't you see the problem here? Oh, sorry, yes you said you don't care what anyone thinks. Especially me. Mate.

Good luck with your 'sale'. Nevermind indeed.

LOL!

Perhaps a new forum rule is needed now.
All classifieds must contain a price, otherwise they're binned.

It'd surely save all that 'guess what I'm thinking' stuff.
Just a thought, and I'm not trying to be controversial.

Just thought I'd pop back on as I'm still looking for ph2 V40 and wondered how the sale of this one has gone.

Agree 100% with the posts IRO the idea of no asking price no post.

We used to get it a lot on the 7/900 section, someone wanders in " I've got a 19xx 940 to sell, great condition blah blah ... how much you wanna pay?

Absolute waste of time for all and the person putting the post up looks a right dickhead.

Seems like the OP falls into the same category.

Wouldn't bother with him, I have parts here waiting fir nearly 3 months for payment, every end of month got no money until end of month can I wait.

I even put him above a member that was desperate for front struts.

Now he isn't responding to my pms .

That's why I always go on the rules of "first with the cash gets the parts". That method might not seem fair to those who want parts but don't have the cash but its even more unfair if people want the parts, have the cash and are told they cant because someone who doesn't have the cash has called dibs.

Plus there's always the risk of months down the line been messed about and they don;t want them, by which point you've lost a sale and been messed about.

In some ways that's why I like eBay. For the fees you pay, its easier to bung everything on buy it now with instant payment only.

I am pretty sure that it should be put to the admin that the common selling rules on most forums/online groups which are usually.

All Adverts have a picture, it has a piece of paper etc with date and your username in and a price, everything else is swiftly deleted.

It helps people see what they have, stops timewasters selling stuff, safer for buyers and makes everybody's life easier.

Agree with Antz, best way to sell stuff is first with the dosh gets the stuff, yeah it is disappointing when you miss out on stuff but that is life.
