Default Radio code needed.

Can anyone kindly assist me in finding the code for my radio in a '76 V70? Some time ago, a member of this forum helped me find a code on my 740. He was from Wales I believe.

Please check year of the car that you have posted.

If its a Ph1 V70, and its not a "cross-over" model, your local Volvo dealer should be able to supply the code for free - they might need the VIN or Index Number of the car to verify it is your car.

If its a PH2 V70, it is software linked to the car and doesn't need a code if its fitted back into the same car - if its from a different V70, it might work without problem if its come from the same year code as your car - if it isn't it may well work but not illuminate or be controllable from the steering wheel buttons. Volvo dealers cannot re-program these radios.....it is supposed to be a "security feature"

Yes Ph1 = phase 1 & Ph2 = Phase 2

Thank you so much for your very helpful reply.

Does Ph1 & Ph2 mean phase 1 & 2?????

My V70 is a '56, so assume Ph2?.

I am just about to put the battery back, and just hope it may not need a code.

PS Where I live, nothing is free, especially Volvo dealers!

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.

Car now up and running, with no audio code problem or mess up to the on board computer's figures.
