Default V70 Intermittently beeping from luggage compartment

I've searched Google and the forum but can't find an answer to my problem. V70 2006 D5 auto 177000 miles. Over the last week I've started getting a beep around 0.5 seconds duration that seems to be coming from the rear compartment. I've timed it today and it happens every 133 seconds but not on every journey. I don't have parking sensors or car phone. The stereo was off but I did notice it cut itself short in beep duration when I indicated to turn. Does anyone have any ideas? Also rear fog light failure warning has started flicking on and off but the bulb is working fine? Thanks

My guess would be an aftermarket towbar electric kit failing. Check behind the panels and under the boot floor.

Thanks, I'll have a look into it.
