Default 2001 S80 total dash failure

Hi,
Driving happily along this morning and dashboard suddenly lit up with every warning and then died. No dashboard back lights, no dials, no warnings. Radio, console switches, etc. at all still lit and working. Indicators, brake lights, headlights, wipers, even cruise control still work perfectly but just no dashboard.
Is there one main fuse or has something just come loose somewhere? Could it be that simple (please) or is it total failure somewhere?
Any thoughts where to start looking greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

The dashboard (DIM in Volvo speak) on this age car is prone to suffering dry joints on the main processor chip. It will need resoldering if this is the case on your car.
There’s a chap on here that repairs them, and has a great reputation for a good and quick turn round. Look up spokulozik on here, or see his sticky thread in the traders section.

Just for comparison, how many miles are on this '01?

Around 130'ish. My previous (2000) S80 was just shy of 200 with no electrical issues at all - unfortunately someone wrote it off for me.

I'd try disconnecting the battery, leave for 10 mins. That can reset things - I had something similar on my 1999 S80, and it seemed to help, though I also had the ABS light come on (which was the poor power transistor connection problem).
